Voters Head To The Polls For Election Day
Polls Will Remain Open Until 8 p.m.

Pittsburgh VotesPITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― Today is officially Election Day. All the candidates' hard work, campaigning and debating is now in the hands of the voters, who will determine their newest elected officials.

All eyes continue to be on the race for U.S. Senate and the race for governor, here in Pennsylvania.

As of Monday, new Quinnipiac University polls showed Republican Rep. Pat Toomey with a five-point lead over Democrat Joe Sestak.

The poll showed Toomey with 50 percent of the vote and Sestak with 45 percent.

In the race for governor, Republican candidate Tom Corbett holds a 10-point lead over Democratic candidate Dan Onorato.

The poll showed Corbett with 52 percent of the vote and Onorato with 42 percent.

The telephone survey of 1,244 likely voters was conducted over the five-day period ending Saturday. The sampling error margin is plus or minus 2.8 percentage points.

In any event, voters have until 8 p.m. to cast their ballots.

Now, because its Election Day, there are some adjustments you need to know about.

All city, state, federal, County Executive and County Controller's offices will be open.

Federal courts will also be open, but, the Court of Common Pleas, Department of Court Records, Sheriff, District Attorney and County Treasurer's offices will be closed.

Trash will be collected on schedule and post offices and state liquor stores will be open.
