One Nation Working Together New World Order Rally

October 2, 2010

Progressives gathered together in Washington D.C. today in hopes of gaining some momentum heading into November. While turn-out was far from disappointing it was not nearly as popular as the now infamous Glenn Beck Restoring Honor Rally held on 8/28.

Attendees did their best to rival the energy of the Tea Party groups now dominating the polls. The overall message of supporting Democrats struggling to keep power on Capitol Hill was lost amongst the progressive agenda laid out by the key note speakers.

More than 400 organizations, including faith, environmental and gay rights groups, sponsored the “One Nation Working Together” demonstration on the same end of the National Mall where a month ago tea party activists met to hear conservative commentator Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin.

Attempting to fuel the crowd with a false sense of constitutionalism the opening speech started with "One Nation Working Together". Most educated people understand that this is just another way of saying “Welcome to the New World Order”.

Some people described the event as a counter-protest to the Beck rally. Many mentioned the perceived racism they see among the tea party-style activists, even though no one who spoke at the Beck rally neared anything approaching criticism of President Barack Obama or his race.

With a month of campaigning to go and voter unhappiness high, the Democratic-leaning organizers hoped the four-hour program of speeches and entertainment would encourage people in the crowd to hit the polls and vote. Overall attendees of the rally, when asked, said they remained undecided.

Obama was not in attendance. The President is reported to be spending the weekend at Camp David, the presidential retreat in Maryland.
