Charlie Sheen Back in the News

January 12, 2011

Charlie Sheen Goes on Vegas BenderCharlie Sheen has beaten the odds and is back at work after Sheen had an "epic bender" in Las Vegas.  TMZ.com reported the actor partied with not one but three porn stars and prompted worry that he would be a no-show on set.

His publicist confirmed to the Daily News that he is back on the "Two and a Half Men" set and performing as expected.

Sheen allegedly was seen "hammering down Grey Goose vodka" at The Palms Hotel and Casino, despite concern from his colleagues and staff, and despite his many public battles with addiction and the law.

Sheen's rep downplayed the reports in an email to the Daily News.

“I keep reading that Charlie Sheen did not show up for work today,” says spokesman Stan Rosenfield. “I read those remarks two hours before his scheduled time of arrival. Charlie Sheen arrived at work today and is there as I send this. Memo to Chicken Little: The sky remains in place.”

It has been a rough couple of months for Sheen.

Back in October, he was discovered in a room at the Plaza hotel in the city, apparently naked and drunk. Ex-wife Denise Richards accompanied him to hospital, where he later discharged himself. He has spent the time since playing down the episode.

Police sources say the cause was intoxication, Sheen’s representative called it an allergic reaction to medication. He was discharged Tuesday night and headed home to Los Angeles to return to work.

Recently it was reported that he will not face criminal charges from the incidence at The Plaza Hotel in New York City with Capri Anderson.

Anderson, the adult movie star who was hired to escort Sheen that night, filed a complaint with the NYPD, accusing Sheen of assault and battery as well as false imprisonment.

Cops were called to the scene and reported an "emotionally disturbed individual" in the suite and carted Sheen off to a nearby hospital for observation.

But sources say the authorities do not believe Sheen engaged in any criminal activity.

"There have been no arrests. That case is closed," an NYPD spokesman tells E!.

In November, Sheen filed for divorce from wife, Brooke Mueller Sheen, citing irreconcilable differences days after he was briefly hospitalized in New York City. The TV and movie star filed for divorce on Monday but listed Dec. 25 2009 as the date of separation for the couple. Sheen and his wife were married in May 2008, and they have twin sons, Bob and Max, together. Sheen is seeking joint custody of the toddlers.

The marriage apparently went south after Sheen pleaded guilty in Aspen this August to misdemeanor and third-degree assault after a Christmas Day altercation with wife Brooke. She claimed he held a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her, according to police.
